Synopsis

From the isolated, west coast islands of Canada to the wild jungles of Borneo, Marilyn Ongkili, along with her husband, Alex, and son, Jesse, have followed God’s repeated request to just "trust Him and go" – even when it made no sense to do so. And around every corner was a divine appointment resulting in a divine adventure! Amidst culture shock, medical crises, financial strain, exhausting travels, and various heartaches, they have experienced miracles and blessings that made it all worth it. In a captivating and completely transparent way, author Marilyn Ongkili draws her readers into some of her family’s adventures, both the ups and the downs, as they obediently follow God around the world. 2Hour Dance is more than an inspiring book of God adventures. It is a faith-stretching invitation for the reader to hear God’s call and respond – even when it makes no sense to do so.

 

Why I Wrote 2Hour D​ance

“You should write a book!” was exclaimed time and time again, as I would sit enjoying a cup of tea with a friend or be bouncing around 4x4ing with another family, relaxing in a friend’s living room or preaching from a pulpit. The common thread in each case was my enthusiastic description of the adventures our family had been on, and the faithfulness of God throughout our dramatic ups and downs. Their excited exclamation was always followed by how much our stories brought encouragement and inspiration for their own personal journey.

 

After hearing this over and over again for several years, I realized that not only were these people serious about this idea, but so was God! I finally put all excuses aside and began to tackle the rather daunting task of writing my first book. If our adventures, our ups and downs, and our hardships and victories could not only entertain, but more importantly encourage and inspire others, why wouldn’t I want to embark on such a journey?

Hi there!

 

My name is Marilyn.

 

Along with my husband, Alex, and son, Jesse, I have juggled my life between Canada and Malaysia and still call them both home. We are on our twentieth year of serving God through full-time ministry in a wide variety of ways and in many different nations. I am passionate for encouraging people from all races and age groups in their own personal journey, but especially gravitate to championing young people. 

 

 

I look forward to taking you on some

of our adventures!
